I apply 20 years of digital strategy expertise to your website.

As a former Air Force officer in charge of a six-figure recruiting website design and development project for Air Force ROTC, I understand what a daunting task website design (or redesign) can be for an organization regardless of size or budget. I know the trade offs you need to make, the budget battles you must fight, and the challenge of delivering results and getting buy-in within your organization.

Knowing where I've been helps you know where we're going.

I am Frank McClung Advisory. I serve as the one and only website strategist, creative thinker, business developer, meticulous manager, and collaborator for all client engagements.

Before establishing Frank McClung Advisory, I was an intelligence officer in the Air Force where I spent the first part of my career analyzing scary foreign threats and creating classified websites, reports, and presentations for clients who shall not be named. I gained extensive experience managing the redesign of the Air Force ROTC website, brand strategy, identity, advertising and collateral.

After honorably completing my military service, I started my own design practice called Drawing on the Promises (dotp) in 2003 to help entrepreneurs, owners, and executives in small to medium sized organizations develop their brand, identity, and client facing communications. I designed for print, advertisements, environmental signage, identity systems, and most importantly, website design and development.

Over the last decade, I narrowed my practice to where I can make the most valuable impact on an organization’s goals — website strategy, design, and implementation. In 2020 I repositioned my website design and implementation practice, and began Frank McClung Advisory. Now I focus twenty plus years of website design and implementation experience solely on smart, effective website strategies for businesses and organizations who want clear communications.

I'm from Birmingham, Alabama (Roll Tide) but currently living in the highlands of Crossville, Tennessee. I am a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy (Class of '93, PTB), a Fulbright Scholar to Hong Kong, and am married to my best friend whom I met while studying Chinese abroad in college. We have six children—two at home ages 6 and 12 which we homeschool, two in college (Sewanee and Kent State), and two married.
